Registered Counselling Therapist - Candidate

Welcome!

I'm a therapist offering in-person sessions for individuals and couples in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, and virtual therapy for folks across Mi'kma'ki/Nova Scotia and beyond.

I love to work with adults (20+) who are looking to deepen self-understanding, reconnect with their bodies, explore patterns in relationships, and practice new ways of being.

About me & my work

I come to this work as a poet and librarian, honouring the power of language and stories, and fascinated by systems of organization and ecological interdependence. I use an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of modalities in order to best support each client.

I believe we all contain everything we need to be whole. Through understanding our environments and the systems and lineages we're part of, we can better claim our power and release what no longer serves us. As a queer therapist, I work from a trauma-informed and justice-oriented framework, affirming and uplifting 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent identities.

For me, the relationship between client(s) and therapist is the most potent part of the work. I strive to create a safe and trusting space for us to collaboratively and experientially support your learning and healing, at your pace.

I draw from existential, narrative, internal family systems (IFS), somatic, psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches. My work with couples is further guided by Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and IFS for Couple Therapy.

Areas of Focus

  • Identity exploration (2SLGBTQIA+, neurodivergence, cultural, spiritual, etc.)
  • Life transitions
  • Relationship issues (with individuals or couples)
  • Trauma
  • Grief & Loss

Consultations are a great way to learn more and explore how we might work together. We can meet by video or phone for 20 minutes, free of charge.
